This is this week's lecture:

INSTRUCTIONS

30.09.2019 - 14.10.2019

For project 1 we were asked to create a key artwork with the theme of The Trouble Makers Manifesto. The Trouble Makers Manifesto was a conference for designers that has the mission to bring change to society in a good way through design. We were each task to create an artwork of it. For this week, we were asked to sketch some ideas for the concept. For me, the sketches that I made didn't make it through the digitization process. I made one sketch and kinda just wing it from there. The way that I've come up with the artwork was through thought and imagination. It started with a bunch of "what ifs" and I did one design and see how it goes. This was the first design that I made

Fig 1.1 First Artwork
So I went ahead and tried to figure what The Trouble Makers Manifesto is and upon figuring that out. I thought of an idea that would symbolize that. The thought process here was to show that society does not fully accept the change that these troublemakers make. So the yellow and black bars with low opacity represents how society doesn't fully accept them and yet still inside society. The model for the artwork represents the troublemakers wanting and mocking the system hence they demand change. This was the first artwork that I did. When I showed this to Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul, they mentioned that the idea is there and it's accurate. However, the model isn't Asian. So I went ahead and looked for other pictures for the "right" model.

Fig 1.2 Picture References
At one point, I thought about using animals that cause trouble but also look formal and cool hence the picture of a dog and a rabbit in a uniform. It turns out that it didn't work the way that I wanted to, so I used the punk kid in the first picture of the reference and see how did they go. This is the second artwork that I made.

Fig 1.3 Second Artwork
Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul commented that it's just a punk kid that's not doing anything. He asked me what is the action of this model that defies society, and I wasn't able to answer that. Therefore, I went ahead and looked for a different model. Eventually, I found this picture.

Fig 1.4 Picture Reference
This is a meme in Canada about a teenager that's rioting, it became famous for quite some time and I decided to use this as my model. One of the comments from the previous artworks that I've made was that Mr. Vinod wanted me to see whether it fits if I made the black and yellow bars smaller. which I did and it turned out well.

Fig 1.5 Third Artwork
For this artwork, Mr. Vinod and Mr. Shamsul wanted me to cover the face in some way and change add some designers element to it, I couldn't quite understand the designer's element part so I tried to add a few things to the artwork. I covered the eyes and added a few Chinese characters that mean change. By the end of this session (14.10.2019), we are required to finish the artwork and add the required details to the poster. These are the details required in the poster :

Advanced Typography - Exercise and Lecture

Advanced Typography - Exercises 26.09.2019 Joseph (0332260) Advanced Typography Exercises  LECTURE (26.09.19) This is the start of what I can say a very stressful course to go through again but no worries its not Taylor's University or any University if it's not hard. For our first week, we start the course by being introduced to the MIB (Module Information Booklet). We were explained by Mr. Vinod what are the assignments going to be like and what are the projects going to be like. After that, we continued on by making presentations and explaining the lecture to the lecturers. We learned about the 8 Typographical Systems, we have :" Axial, Radial, Dilatational, Random, Grid, Modular, Transitional, and Bilateral. These are the slides of presentation that each of our group makes. INSTRUCTIONS EXERCISE Week 2 (02.09.2019) For our first exercise, we were asked to make 2 art designs based on the presentation that we did for the first week. The...

Advanced Interactive Design - 202003

Advanced Interactive Design - 202003 04.16.2020 Joseph (0336620) Advanced Interactive Design Exercise Week 1 We started with the MIB briefing, and then we proceeded to learning the Adobe Animate. Unfortunately, I haven't got the software yet. So I proceeded to take notes based on what our lecturer said about the software. Mr.Lun then proceeded to explaining our project one, which is actually shocking because he said that its due week 5 and we were pretty much rushing things. Our project was that we have to create an animation flow for a certain online shop. So for this weeks objective we were told to update our blogs, and start working on what we wanna animate (online store or service). After that we are expected to make an animation workflow and a wireframe for the week. So for my wireframe, I didn't exactly know what sort of apps or services or online stores that I wanna do, we were told to gain inspiration from a website called  UI Movement  and sort go th...

29.08.2019 Joseph (336620) Typography Exercises LECTURES Lecture 1 : Introduction to Typography We started the semester off with an introduction to the module and what to expect in the coming weeks. We are then expected to create a blogger account or an e-portfolio as people call it to insert or showcase our future projects and exercises throughout the semester, to make things easier for new semester students, a sample was given as a guideline for us to follow  Mr. Vinod has also inform us of the materials that is needed for the upcoming activities and task that is to be done before the next meeting or the next class - A4 graph papers and 3.0 Artline Drawing Pen. However before that, Mr. Vinod began with power pointed introduction to Typography. Due to my undersstanding, typography is a step or procedure of  arranging type or processing data and printing from it, a way to make writings readable and eligible for looking and writing. Due to its course and journey ...
