Exercises

WEEK 6

I was absent. But I did a few while I was absent, although my first work was completely wrong, meaning that I didn't meet the requirements, I did another one.

Fig 1 Project 1 (First Attempt)
This was immediately turned down by Mr. Shamsul because it was completely wrong, so I was supposed to create a layout and use first things first as a headline. Knowing that I decided to do another one on week 7.

Week 7
This was my official First Work.
Fig 2 Project 1 ( Second Attempt)
So when the lecturers said make a headline I thought about newspapers headlines and magazines and I read quite a few, so the idea behind this design is trying to have the sense of reading newspapers. So I designed a way that it looks neat and cleaned, most of the time Mr. Vinod mentioned that typography should make the words easy to read and all that. So I chose Futura as a typeface because it looks really simple and nice. So I showed this to Mr. Shamsul he said that I didn't need to express the text in that way, he said that I should just keep it simple and use the same typeface. He also said that its occupying space, he mentioned that having white space is good and it can balance the composition.

So after reading that feedback, I was confused as of what to do. I understood what the issues were, but it was difficult for me to fix them. So I started off by fixing the issues one by one, I started with "keep it simple and use the same typeface. Eventually, I did this.
Fig 3 (Third Attempt)

So for the third attempt, I went ahead on chose Futura, Light Condensed to fix the problem of keeping it simple and in hopes of fixing the "occupied" space. When I showed this to Mr. Shamsul, he said this looks better now but the subheadings are occupying the space now. First I didn't understand what the subheadings were until Mr. Shamsul showed me this.
Fig 4 Project 1 (Mr. Shamsul's Guide)

After seeing that I still didn't know how to fix it. So I took a bet and did this.
Fig 5 Project 1 (Fourth Attempt)
The idea behind the box is to hope show alignment from the composition and layout so that everything looks more in order. But eventually, I took down the box and Mr. Shamsul said that overall it looks okay now. So this is the end product.

Feedback

Week 7
- Mr. Shamsul said that the text was not required to be expressed that way. He mentioned that I should keep it simple and use the same typeface. For my second try, Mr. Shamsul mentioned that it looks better and this time I should try removing the box and check the alignment.

Reflection

Compared to last year, this project was really less stressful and less costly.

Findings

I was surprised that this year's Project was very different from this year.

Observations

The class was surprisingly fun this time.

For our first week, we start the course by being introduced to the MIB (Module Information Booklet). We were explained by Mr. Vinod what are the assignments going to be like and what are the projects going to be like. After that, we continued on by making presentations and explaining the lecture to the lecturers. We learned about the 8 Typographical Systems, we have :" Axial, Radial, Dilatational, Random, Grid, Modular, Transitional, and Bilateral. These are the slides of presentation that each of our group makes. INSTRUCTIONS EXERCISE Week 2 (02.09.2019) For our first exercise, we were asked to make 2 art designs based on the presentation that we did for the first week. The...

Advanced Interactive Design - 202003

Advanced Interactive Design - 202003 04.16.2020 Joseph (0336620) Advanced Interactive Design Exercise Week 1 We started with the MIB briefing, and then we proceeded to learning the Adobe Animate. Unfortunately, I haven't got the software yet. So I proceeded to take notes based on what our lecturer said about the software. Mr.Lun then proceeded to explaining our project one, which is actually shocking because he said that its due week 5 and we were pretty much rushing things. Our project was that we have to create an animation flow for a certain online shop. So for this weeks objective we were told to update our blogs, and start working on what we wanna animate (online store or service). After that we are expected to make an animation workflow and a wireframe for the week. So for my wireframe, I didn't exactly know what sort of apps or services or online stores that I wanna do, we were told to gain inspiration from a website called  UI Movement  and sort go th...
